DAIRY GOAT MIX

A mix of cereals and pulses optimised for the high yielding dairy goat. Should be introduced about 2 weeks before kidding, starting with just a few handfuls, and gradually building up to about 0.5kg a day by the time the kids are born. After the birth of kids, the feed should be slowly increased to about 2kg a day. A milking goat producing about 4.5 litres of milk a day will need about 2kg of mix a day. Depending on the individual goat, you may need to increase the amount further if she is producing more milk, by about 1kg for every extra gallon of milk , though the goat may not want to eat this much.
